Alyssa and Sam's wedding day was so perfect! They got married last month at The Mercantile in Mt. Sterling, Ohio. It called for rain all week and even rained on my way to the venue, but thankfully it let up and we were able to have the ceremony outside. The Mercantile is one of my favorite venues and I was so happy to be back there to celebrate Alyssa and Sam!
We started the day off with detail shots and getting ready photos and then Alyssa had a first look with her dad. I think I enjoy first looks with dad more than first looks with fiancé. There's just something so special about seeing a dad see her daughter as a bride for the first time. After the first look, we had bridesmaid photos and then groomsmen. I always try to capture bridesmaid and groomsmen photos before the ceremony, that way there is more time after for other photos.
Sam saw Alyssa for that first time that day as she walked down the aisle. Sam and Alyssa's ceremony was beautiful! Instead of lighting a unity candle, they both poured sand into a little box as a way to unite them together. After the ceremony, we photographed family formals and then the wedding party all together. We wrapped up portraits with Alyssa and Sam! I really love how their portraits turned out; they're so goofy with each other! I'm pretty sure I was cheesing the whole time during their photos.
Sam and Alyssa's reception was so much fun! Their maid of honor and best man gave great toasts and Alyssa shoving cake in Sam's face was hilarious. During the reception, we stole away to pop some champagne. I love Alyssa's reaction! We wrapped up the night with lots of dancing and some sunset photos. I think their photos at sunset are some of my favorites that I've ever taken!
I'm so happy Alyssa and Sam chose me to photography their day! It was a hot one, but it was so beautiful. I'm so excited to see what the future holds for them both!
