Emilee and Sam got married in May at The Hitching Post Ranch in Lancaster, Ohio. Despite the rain, it was such a beautiful day! It was my first time photographing a wedding at The Ranch; it really is a little slice of heaven. The owners have really thought of everything and the staff is amazing to work with! The ceremony site is probably my favorite part with the big tree and I love that they put down turf so it makes it easier to walk on. I also really love the pond and the fact that they bring the horses closer to the ceremony site so guests can see them. It truly is an amazing venue!
Emilee and Sam chose to keep things traditional, so Sam didn’t see her until she walked down the aisle. I really enjoy seeing a groom’s reaction as they see their bride for the first time! I love the colors Emilee chose for her bridesmaid’s dresses and groomsmen were so much fun to photograph! They had a lot of ideas for pictures and I think that’s what makes wedding photos so great is when everyone chips in. It’s always better to have everyone interested in photos versus no one wanting to do them!
Emilee and Sam were also so much fun to photograph when it was time for bride and groom photos. My second photographer, Samantha, and I were talking about how much we adore the way Emilee and Sam look at each other! It was the topic of the day. I love how Emilee and Sam’s photos turned out and Emilee had some ideas for poses. I always love when couples have their own ideas because that way it makes their photos truly them instead of the typical wedding poses.
Emilee and Sam are both surrounded by amazing family members! Emilee’s mom prayed before dinner and her dad gave a speech followed by the best man and maid of honor. One of my favorite parts about photographing weddings is seeing all the love between family and capturing the hugs and joy when guests see the bride and groom. After dinner, a big storm rolled in, but we didn't even notice with all the dancing and loud music! It truly was a great day. I am super excited to see the adventures that Emilee and Sam go on together and I can’t wait to photograph at The Hitching Post Ranch again!
