At the end of May, I hosted my very first content day. If you're not familiar, a content day is where a photographer collaborates with fellow wedding vendors to create a special day for other photographers to come and practice their craft while photographing beautiful images for content. It was held at an amazing A-frame cabin down in Hocking Hills (here's the link to book!) The owners of the cabin are such sweet people and I'm super grateful to have made that connection. The A-frame is small, but so adorable and has some amazing views! It also has everything you need to be comfortable and even a beautiful creek.
For content day, we had two sets of couples: Jackie and AJ and Patrick and Jessica. We had stunning bouquets provided by Milkmaid Blooms and Botanica Florals. Le Reve Makeup and Hair provided the hair and makeup for the models. It was all around a fantastic experience! Myself and around 8 other photographers attended, making it an intimate and unique gathering. Despite the super hot weather, we had so much fun!
Some of the photographers who joined me are relatively new and I'm passionate about fostering a sense of community over competition. It's important to me that newer photographers feel supported and I loved meeting each one of them. The primary goal of the content day was to teach posing techniques, but honestly, none of these photographers needed much instruction - they came with incredible ideas of their own! I hope I was able to teach them something valuable and help them gain the confidence they need to grow their business.
I'm incredibly grateful for the vendors who helped me make this day possible. Special thanks to Colleen from Party Plus, who came after a busy memorial day weekend and set all the props and tables up perfectly. She is wonderful and I'm so grateful for our relationship! I also want to thank Samantha and Tiffany for their help in setting up and tearing down. I have some amazing friends. :) Stay tuned for the next content day... this fall!
