Top Wedding FAQs: Everything You Need to Know for a Stress-Free Wedding Day

Planning a wedding comes with figuring out so many details, and I know photography is a big one! To help make the process easier, I've put together answers to some of the top wedding FAQs couples ask me.

  1. Can You hold a date for me?

I completely understand that it's important to lock in your date, but like many others, I can only hold a date with a signed contract and paid deposit, which is 30% of the total (the remaining balance isn't due until the day before your wedding.) Once those are in place, your wedding date is officially secured on my calendar! Because I don't usually know the exact time that I need to arrive until much later, I mark off the whole day and do not book anything else for that day. If you are still deciding on your date, please reach out asap to check availability.

  2. Do You Provide a Second Photographer?

I do - every collection comes with a second photographer! My main second photographer is Samantha and she is amazing! We have been working together for around 4 years now and she's an absolute joy to have around on a wedding day. Having a second photographer allows for more coverage, different angles, and honestly, a lot more photos. If you're having a bigger wedding or want extra photos in your gallery, having a second photographer is the way to go.

However, if you are working within a budget or are having a more intimate wedding, you can take the second photographer off your collection. All my collections are customizable and you can take off things that aren't needed or wanted.

  3. Do You Offer Engagement Sessions?

Yes! Each wedding collection also comes with an hour engagement session OR an hour boudoir session - it's up to you which one you'd prefer. Engagement sessions are such a great way for us to get to know each other before the big day. These sessions are great for save the dates and also help you feel more comfortable in front of the camera, especially if you've never had professional pictures taken together.

Just like with the second photographer, you can also take off the engagement session if you've already had one or don't want one.

  4. Do You Have Additional Products to Purchase?

Yes, after your wedding, you'll have the option to purchase a variety of keepsakes, including heirlooms albums, prints, other wall art, calendars, and even ornaments. All of these things can be designed and ordered through your online gallery or you can have me design your album if you're unable to. I truly believe your wedding photos deserve to be more than just digital files - they should be displayed and cherished for years to come!

  5. Do You Accept a Shot List?

I always welcome input on must - have shots, especially for photos like family formals where a shot list is needed. However, when it comes to wanting very specific images that you may have seen online, I don't guarantee a set shot list with those because it really depends on the willingness of individuals in photos, the lighting, the weather, etc. Also, photos that you see on Pinterest and use for inspiration photos cannot be replicated 100%! My approach to photography is a mix of capturing natural, candid moments and posed portraits. If you have specific requests, still share them and I'll try to do my best to incorporate them!
